Vevlaa was stressed, VERY stressed. He had absolutely no idea of what was going on outside The Waffle. He had been stuck in there for hours, and none of the doors would open. â€ÂDamn that EMP!†he grinned, as he tried to bypass the door systems.
Vevlaa reached for one of the electronic cables to the door control within a small compartment, he would very soon regret it, as a loose cable fell over his hand, sending a small but painful electrical shock through him. His hand shot backwards. Vevlaa looked at it, and his facial expression changed from stressed to mad…
He jumped up, and laded a hard kick directly into the cable compartment. Sparks flew, but the powers to the doors were restored. A quick smile appeared in Vevlaa’s face, as the hydraulics kicked in and the ramp opened with a squeaking noise.
Before walking outside, Vevlaa grabbed his helmet from the floor, and put it on. The HUD buzzed to life, and displayed the status of the defense perimeter. No engagement. Good!
It was about then a sound coming from a high powered rifle reached his ears. “Alright! Malus’ Railgun! †he said to himself, as he turned his head. Then he noticed a more disturbing thing. A emergency marker displayed in his HUD, warning him about Carmines current situation. He needed help, and he needed help now!
Then a second shot was fired, but this time from a bit smaller weapon. Vevlaa had to guess it was a 50cal. And the only one carrying that was Delta… That meant at least he was ok.
A red arrow appeared in his HUD. The motion trackers had picked up something. It was still a bit too far away from the main defense to start firing though. By the way the arrow moved, Vevlaa guessed it had to be either a Predator, or a very similar creature.
Vevlaa grabbed his M41F from its shoulder position, and started to move against Carmine’s position. It was a bit outside the motion trackers scan field, so he decided to turn on his own motion tracker, giving Vevlaa a 360degree scanning of the area.
When he approached the outer scan field, his motion tracker lit up. There about 50 meters was a hidden target. Vevlaa knew immediately what was hidden behind that bush. A Xenomorph! As soon as the motion tracker had confirmed its position; he could see a tail slowly wagging back and forth. It was nothing anyone would have noticed, if they didn’t have the right equipment…
Vevlaa pretended that he didn’t see it, and walked closer to Carmines position. Now knowing where the Xenomorph was, he could easily move closer without falling into a ambush.
Vevlaa were a excellent marksman, and hardly never missed his target. Especially not with a recoil free weapon as the M41F with a flamethrower instead of the grenade launcher… the HUD displayed 30 meters. At this range he could easily kill a fly in the center of a paper target. A Xenomorph was no challenge…
All of these things flew through Vevlaa’s mind as he mentally prepared himself for combat…
20 meters... It was now or never. Within a blink of an eye, Vevlaa had his rifle ready to fire, and the flamethrower lit up. Targeting was easy. At this range, Vevlaa was deadly with a rifle. As Vevlaa pulled the trigger, five rounds exited the barrel with deadly precision.
The five multipurpose rounds flew through the air at 5times the speed of sound, making the hit at 20 meters almost instantly, blasting through the creature’s tail, cutting it in half. It was a shame that Vevlaa couldn’t see the body or head of the Xenomorph, but at least he got rid of a Xenomorph weapon that he had seen so many of his comrades been killed by. He would not suffer the same faith as them!
Almost instantly as he had fired the five rounds, he sent a wall of fire against the Xenomorph. He knew on 20 meters, it wouldn’t have any other effect other than preventing the creature to jump directly towards him……..
Kirby, that’s one. Your move!
