Alien Warrior from ALIENS
Alien Runner from Alien 3
Cystic Alien Warrior from Alien Resurrection
Battle and Grid Aliens from AVP Alien vs Predator

Queen from ALIENS
Queen from ALIEN RESURRECTION
Queen Empress from AVP Alien vs Predator

NewBorn from Alien Ressurrection

I think that the Empress and the Cystic ALien Warriors are the best :)

the best i think was the warriors from aliens i like the way the skull is textured ya kno the ribbed pattern

if i had to refer to it as something i would rather refer to it as runner rather than a dog alien. making it a dog alien is like admitting there are mantis aliens or rhino aliens or scorpion aliens. calling it a runner differintiates it better than just calling it a drone. but thats only if i had to call it something, in my mind its still a drone

Well, the Queen dominates regardless...but i liked the Runner from alein3 and the swimming aliens from Res., i mean those were just too cool

please correct me if i'm wrong but isn't giger an artist only. i believe the alien film was a cinematic rendering based on his paintings. some posts suggests he was actively involved in the creature special effects. maybe dave can clear it up.

Honestly, my money is on the original 1979 ALIEN.
It was by far the best looking and most believable of all the various incarnations of the beast we all love.

who came up with the ox idea? an ox in a prison planet? an ox in a prison planet with like 15 guys? makes no type of sense if you ask me. i'm glad they cut it off from the final print, i would have hated alien3 jsut for that alone.

i like the alien in alien3, reminds me of the alien from the original film, just as suspensful.

True, the "runner" is really just a drone. Same way a Predalien is just a drone. Despite the change of apperence, they are still drones. The only "Official" name I know of is "Dog ALien."

They call it a runner because its good at running away from a fight, but anyway I have to say the drone from the first movie, that was the one that scared me and that is the best one.

In time the battle ALiens and Grid would have those rib skulls because as Aliens mature their head's outer skin tightens or something like that and it shows the outting of their skull

But grid would get it first considering he is probably one of the first Xehomorph that was born

they would get the skull things if Scar didnt blow the whole hive to pieces

I think the best aliens are the Empress and the Runner from Alien 3

True, the "runner" is really just a drone. Same way a Predalien is just a drone. Despite the change of apperence, they are still drones. The only "Official" name I know of is "Dog ALien." In any case, the name "runner" was invented for AVP2, so as to spice up the gameplay a bit with different types of aliens.

It's hard for me to choose, so I'll have to make categories.

SCARIEST
1979 Giger's Alien. No contest.

STRONGEST
Grid Alien. He fought well against Celtic.

COOLEST LOOKING
Queen from AvP. She looked more demonic than any other of her species.

But I really like the Warriors from ALIENS. They looked so cool. I was so excited whenever I heard that AvP was officially in preproduction, hoping that the ribbed craniums would return. Even though they didn't I still like the alien designs for AvP, especially Grid's. It'd be very cool though if the Warriors made a reappearance in Alien 5 or AvP 2.

I think dog alien is it's canon name (even if it may have realy come from an ox)
