I conclude that Gothic 4 and Command & Conquer 4 are so bad that no one even wants to acknowledge their existence. They were released and nothing was heard of them since.

AvPR took itself 100% seriously. Whoever wrote it put in lines like "People are dying... WE NEED GUNS." and thought "Yeah, that's the stuff!"

It's ridiculous action scenes were clearly intended to look badass. It's subplot about the pizza lad was meant to be followed. It had no idea what it was; it was an idiotic B-movie that THOUGHT it was the next Alien. The Alien/Ninja thing, by contrast, isn't taking itself too seriously, and is having some fun with the concept.

It knows people are watching it to see ninjas and monsters have ridiculous karate fights, and that's exactly what it's going to give you. What's the problem?
