Is there a cover story between the extinct clans

Just wondering about the extinct clans is there some kind of story that tells us how they got extinct or were they just wiped out due to lack of interest.

Seriously though, there a bunch of reasons why those clans failed.

Well, Jessica Alba is at least a pretty alien.

I found it hilarious that one of the RPGs involving the extinct clans described the back story as "LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL."
