H.R Giger's drawing of a seemingly directly mutated, alien like creature

I remember seeing that image on the special features of the alien dvd, if memory serves me correctly he drew that before he started work on the film, but took elements from it and added it to the final alien creature. If that is incorrect please somebody call me on it.

All of gieger's drawings look like that ffs. When you see a picture that looks like that you know damn well it's gieger...
