So I was thinking about this, could they turn one of the franchises into a series. I think it would be neat because the Aliens series, in my opinion, could easily be a t.v. series. How? EASY! They should make it about a colony that gets infested, like ALIENS Hadleys Hope but explained. So in this show it would start out from the colony and how a xenomorph comes about and starts taking people to her newly made hive and eventually how the colonist have to fight back against the infestation. Now I don't know if it would work for an ALIEN VS PREDATOR title, but maybe a Predator title would work but I'm not gonna think that one out.
I think I'd enjoy a series about Predators on Earth. In the style of AvP2, I mean. I think that would turn out alright. Of course it would probably get to the point where a human becomes a Predator and they summon the souls of the dead to increase their powers or something like that, but I think that's just reasonable for a spin-off series, since no one is actually expecting it to stay true to canon. That is, of course, assuming they don't turn the predator into a mindless villain.
Honestly I think an Aliens T.V. Show could work really well if it was well written, following a group of survivors who have to avoid the Xenomorphs and wait for the Marines to arrive and whatnot.
A Predator one could work, too. Again, as long as it was well-written. I think Television programs work so much better than Films in a lot of ways, because they allow for much more character development.
It can with the right writers and director. Just because the AVP films were horse shit doesn't mean a TV show has to be. But just for extra precaution, I'd rather have this be a straight-to-DVD/BD mini series where the production team has more freedom and budget to do what they want - the scheduling conflicts and executive meddling of a major channel would probably only turn it into another AVPR.
Yeah, I would want it to be on Netflix or something, where the network doesn't feel the need to protect our poor wittle ears from naughty no-no words (I'm looking at you, AMC)
There was a dead body with several gunshot wounds that the camera lingered over for several seconds, but let's interrupt this dramatic and character-defining moment so Dean Norris can't say "Fuck."
Netflix would be great if they allowed a high budget - their new season of Arrested Development almost suffered from a lack of money, and that show doesn't seem like it needs much. A Predator show, on the other hand, would need a bigger budget than Falling Skies.
