There was actually part of that scene removed in the theatrical release of the film. The predalien actually managed to board a scout ship which was docked with the larger ship from the first film. The scout ship is the one we see the creature ravaging at the beginning of AVP-R.
The directors have said several times that the full uncut scene will be on the DVD version of the film.
