The levels don't matter that much do they, Unless your level is 10 and your versing someone with level 70.

He is questioning the smartguns ability to track farther than that of a machine which was specifically made for tracking. It makes no sense and there is no proof that the smartgun tracks more distance than the motion tracker.

There's also a few mentions in the Colonial Marine Technical Manual that the Motion Tracker has a range far further than 30m, AS LONG AS IT IS OUT IN THE OPEN! Shit like walls would cause interference, yes?

Besides, a machine gun with a maximum range of 30m is pointless in any actual military application. Thirty meters isnt that long, y'know.

So, let me get this straight. We Marines are only using the weapons from the movie Aliens, aye? But we aren't allowed to use games and comics as a reference. Understandable. But the USCM Technical Manual should be a viable source, I would hope.

I don't know, the Marines only ever showed up once in the entire Alien series(not counting the men with Yutani in the 3rd) so that gives us a very low spectrum of weaponry. Yet the Predators had two entire movies displaying a good majority of their arsenal. More if you count the AVP movies, which I hope nobody would ><.

Its not in the movie, so we can't let it in. Its a slippery slope. The marines are allowed to use the Tech Manual, then Predators will want the crazy comic weapons like flamethrowers, and then the aliens will want to start having some of the crazier alien variants that pop up in the comics. Its simpler to keep it strictly in the movies.

About having only one movie for the marines, that is honestly just your problem. No one forced you to choose marines, it was your own decision to choose a race that would need to adapt and think the most to win. You just need to make due with what Aliens and a bit of Predator gave you.

As for the marine weapons you guys are thinking way too narrow minded. Your focusing on the movie Aliens for your weaponry. ANY human weapons that appeared in ANY of the alien/predator/AVP movies are canon and useable. Alien Resurrection though a shit movie had some fancy high tech marine weapons, in predator you've got the minigun and grenade launchers, predator2 high tech pistols and shotguns. AVP you've got the latest version of the assault rifles.

Resurrection is a 1997 film, Aliens is from 1986. You've got a variety of weapons to choose from, and we all know it doesn't take a super-duper hightech bullshit pulse cannon to take out an alien or predator.
