*The sounds of war reverberated furiously amidst the heat of the day. Creatures screamed in agony and victory. The Hunters had captured their Queen but her faithful drones had managed to release her once again and the Hunters were determined to get their prize back even if they had to kill every Xenomorph they encountered. These words were proving to carry more truth than previously thought for the Predators seemed to gain the upper hand against the parasites; many of the drones were already severely wounded and made them easy pickings for the Hunter’s Plasma Cannons. Before long they had managed to bind the Queen once again by focusing their assaults on her; her maternal instincts kicked in at the harassment and used her pheromones to keep her brood at bay. The Xenomorphs halted their attacks and retreated.
*Drone Warrior grew furious at this; he had managed to free his Mother only to have her ensnared again and though he wished nothing more than to rip the Hunter’s throats open himself her pheromones overpowered his conscious mind and could do little but growl loudly as the Hunters calmly reinforced the binds on the Queen. There seemed to be few things to have faith in now.
*The Queen still strained against the binding ropes and chains as the Hunters literally dragged their struggling haul to their ship once again. There were times when she would dig her heels into the hot sand, pulling against the tug of the bind, growling. Even though she was captured again did not meant that she was going to make it easier on the Hunters but they needed little persuasion to make her move forward; an electrical burst against one of the weaker points of her exoskeleton was usually enough to make the Matriarch progress in the right direction.
*As the ramp was lowered again the Hunters knew this was the most dangerous part, either the Queen made a suicidal last-ditch attempt or she would call upon her drones again. Yet the Predators had already experienced through the latter circumstance and focused on the Queen and any suspicious movement on her part.
*Furious hissing came forth from around the darkened corners of the rocky area around the Hunters’ ship. The Queen’s many children were not pleased in the least at the way their Great Mother was being treated. The Hunters paid little attention to them, as long as the Queen was within their control she would not do anything to further endanger the life of her children so the drones kept their distance at their Mother’s request. More than one drone leaped angrily at a Hunter only to be blasted away by their mounted cannons. The Queen’s anguished moan at the death of her child made the rest of the drones cry out also but there was always one more that couldn’t resist the instinctual urge to protect the Queen. Only scattered limbs bathed in a pool of acidic blood said anything about the soldiers’ efforts.
*Now with a hesitant taloned claw on the ramp the hope of rescuing the Queen seemed to fade away and the drones grew more nervous at the prospect of anarchy.
*Drone Warrior, Iseijin, and the recent arrival of Avpfreak stood atop a large boulder, looking down at the spectacle as few feet below them. All three Xenomorphs bobbed their heads up and down wildly, calling out to their Queen, pleading her to let the drones attack, the Matriarch refused their request; instead they had to watch as the Hunters brusquely tugged and pushed to move the oversized bug farther into the ramp.
*The massive head of the Queen hung low. The loss of her first born, the Alpha, had been a hard reality to accept for both her and rest of the Hive; her air of pride and majesty was gone to be replaced with a feeling of tire and fatigue.
*The chorus of the drones’ cries echoed through the air, reverberating back in eerie echoes. The Hunters kept a careful watch over the drones in case of any aggressive behavior.
*Iseijin was amongst the first of her comrades to fall silent. It was no use; the Queen would never yield to their request. The xenomorph’s entire body slumped wearily as her head and tail halted their constant movements. That’s it. She had finally lost hope for good. Even if they were all to attack now, all the Xenomorphs together in one last assault, what then? To be blasted away by the Hunters? To make their Queen suffer even more loss? Half of the drones were too young to consciously overcome their Queen’s pheromones and those that were able to attack were damaged and would not last long. True that Iseijin was loyal to the Queen and she had tried to save her again and again and again but every time the Hunter’s gained the upper hand, it was getting frustrating and wanted to be part of the disappointment no more. She was wise enough to know when enough was enough. Maybe she should be considered unfaithful and disloyal but in her mind there was no point in going on… For her, the war had already been over; it just took her this long to realize it.
*The Xenomorph looked over at her eager comrades. They growled and paced back and forth, their mouths drooling in anticipation at the thought of retaliation. Iseijin’s lips were dry and wished to somehow still possess a portion of the will and spirit they owned. To innocently believe there was still something to be hopeful to, to still have faith in, but found no comfort in her Queen’s groans. She did not wish to make them to change their minds about it, if they wanted to fight then let them do so at their own risk; for Iseijin too many mounted disappointments finally overcame her…It had been too much, too fast.
