The words that came over his communicator to his ears were as clear as ever. He knew that this was going to happen, sooner or later. He heard the message loud and clear, that Hicks was going to self destruct this place, along with everyone in it. TDN laughed in both fear and joy. He had knew this was coming. He knew that his death could not have been prevented, for he had seen it in his visions, his dreams. He felt joy at the same time that he felt sadness and depression, and although he hates to admit it, fear. He felt a twisted joy knowing that these hellspawn creatures will share the same fate of death as he will soon be. "This is exactly what you deserve you foul beasts!" he said to himself, and was hoping those around him, human or not, could hear. Yet in a situation like this, how could one not feel sadness and fear. He was sad, for there was one promise that he wasn't able to keep, a promise that he would return to his men, for he knew it was too late for him now. And he felt fear, the one thing he had refuse for so long to show his enemies. Then again, who would not be frightened when they know that their death was inevitable, that nothing could be done to prevent it.
He looked at the Xenomorph in front of him,and at the body of the Predator that he had killed. Though it had not been a battle of life and death, the creature was still tough, and it took alot out of him to defeat it. "You son of a b*tch" he said to the lifeless body of the creature. His knowledge of his death had made him fear, and that fear turned into more anger and hatred. He knew that with his strength depleted after that fight with the Predator and with his previous injuries since he first landed on this forsaken planet, that he was in no shape to fight the Xenomorph in front of him. But he wasn't about to give up, and as he look at the body of the unconscious Kerrigan, he muttered tyhe words to her "I'm sorry".
With his communicator in hand, he spoke through it "Kidd, do you respond?". "Yes sir?" the voice of Kidd responded through the radio. "How are things going where you're at" TDN asked. "Sir, if you haven't know, this place is about to blow" Kidd said to him "Me and the squad had just cut through a bunch of Xenomorph and cleared a path for us the make it to the new dropship that we have just called". "I know" TDN replied "I heard what Hicks said. And I'm sorry Kidd, and the rest of my men". He paused just as Kidd asked "What do you mean, sir?". "I mean Kidd, that I'm not going to make it out of here." TDN said "I'm sorry that I could not keep my promise, but you must all go without me. I guess, this is goodbye then, huh?". He turned off his communicator as he could hear Kidd and some men yelling his name through the radio.
Turning it on again, this time trying to connect only with Hicks' line, he spoke through it "Hicks, it's me". "This is Hicks, what is it sir?" Hicks replied. "How's things going down there?" TDN asked. "Good time to be joking sir. Let's see, I've just activated a bomb that'll blow up this whole place up, and I'm standing beside a gigantic Queen. Hicks replied. "Well, I guess you're fine then" TDN said, and he could hear Hicks gave a chuckle, though he knew Hicks too wasn't being tovery calm about this. "I guess, this the the end for the both of us huh Hicks" TDN said. "Looks that way, sir" Hicks replied. "I guess this is goodbye" TDN said, as he turns off his communicator.
Looking at the Xenomorph once more, he spoke to it "I will not let you have the satisfaction of killing me, no matter what my fate will be. No, I'll have the satisfaction of knowing that I've taken you with me". With that, the creature leapt at him, even after that whole moment of almness when it didn't even flinch and made any moves. It pinned him down to the ground, and began hacking away at his armor and reaching through his chest. With his synthetic arm, TDN untied his belt, which had contained his stash of high explosive genades. Wrapping it around the creature, he tied it to the creature's head with his arm and teeth. The creature screeched, not knowing what he was doing. With his arm, he reached for one of the grenades on his belt and pushed the trigger. He had no more fear of death, and he wasn't going to try to prevent it anymore.
With that, the grenades exploded, and it could be heard throughout the whole colony. TDN could feel death coming to him, as he smiled and embrace his inevitable future. He looked at the screeching creature once more and laughed, as both their bodies engulf in flames, and nothing will remain of the both of them. But even if he was to die, he know that his men would make it back, save for some that have died. He closed his eyes, and let death take him slowly...
"There are five possible operations for any army. If you can fight, fight; if you cannot fight, defend; if you cannot defend, flee; if you cannot flee, surrender; if you cannot surrender, die."
