preatorian your thoughts?

im here to ask what the majority of you think of the preatorian. as i am sure we all know the preatorian was never a movie creation but a game creation. and because of this they are said to be there only to milk the franchise. and im not saying they are not *cough* avp extecntion *cough* but when they were first put into a game didnt they have credit to their name? (they were first created in alien versus predator 1 for pc and revised and well done in avp2 for pc) didnt they give them enough of a story with out ruining the franchise. in the begining they were just really old vetren drone who grew a crown, stronger body armor, larger size, and strength. but they also came with weakness. such as the ability to walk on walls, pounce, and the major thing with aliens it is alot harder for a preatorian to blend in. as for becoming a queen according to avp2 when a hive in question got to the pinnicale of its height it whould send out a preatorian on its own and if it lived for one year by itself it whould molt and grow enough to start a new hive. which may i say is alot better than the extenction version.
in any case back to my question what of the preatorian is it worth being around? is it a game creation worthy of respect? and finally do you like them at all? i mean it sure isnt a ravager...

It's exactly what a last-ditch-attempt Queen is. What made me laugh is because I once had a huge Predalien that took out the enemy Queen in three hits. That doesn't make sense, so it shouldn't be in the movie saga.

I think that the preatorian is awesome but to me it kinda takes away from the alien. Cus when you think about it whats an alien supposed to be? Sealthy, deadly, silent. Sure the preatorian can be all that but it cannot climb walls, is bulky ect., ect.

You COULD sneak one into a movie as a still-developing queen chestburster I guess, but that's all. Preas are wicked in extinction and are pretty cool in the games, but as far as the movies are concerned? I would rather it didn't show up.

You could be right Hyro. But I still think that them becoming queens is unrealistic, and being unstealthy kills the alien half of the non-canon mutation..

well actually it was only avp extenction that ruined the super egg. they were the one that created the the "preatorian egg" while in the pc games they were really old vetrens who had years of molting under their belt

Really? D@mn, I've played all of them and I forget this sort of thing... Oh well, now I'm liking AVP:Extinction's Preatorian even more... But it's still kick-a$$, anyway. And all you need is the wonder of Spell Check, Heheh... (No offense, it's a joke)

The Preatorian, in my point of view, is really the only game creation that fits into the Alien Life-cycle succesfully. It's not crazy, it's job is well done, it's tight as hell, and best of all, it would take the place of a stupidly placed King Alien/Emperor.
The only problem is that it defies the canon life-cycle; it fully takes out the Super Egg, the Drone's ability to create a Super Egg, the Super Egg to spawn a Super-Face hugger, and it takes away the purpose of Alien 3. I like it, though. The Preatorian being a surprise in Alien: Resurrection is MUCH better than that piece of cr@p called a Newborn.

Exactly, Crow. Oh, by the way, you listed two things as being 5). Not having explored AvP:E, I was un-aware of the Trinity, as you could call it, of the Preatorian.
This is what I think would happen
Drone-->Warrior-->Bigger, Stronger Warrior
(Looks just like the regulare warrior, only a lil' bit bigger, and a bit stronger)
Not possible:
Drone-->Warrior-->Facehugger Nanny (Carrier)
Drone-->Warrior-->Walking spikes (Ravenger)
The Preatorian is just too different from the Ravenger, and the Carrier. There may be some strange animal in the AvP universe that creates somthing like a Preatorian, but it wont be the super(Not super as in cool, but super as in 'Superman'), unstealthy, combersum, Queen morphing monster that so many people love.

Well...I highly doubt that I will ever give a bio of a Praetorian because of the following reasons:
1) They are not in the films. I have never heard of / seen a Praetorian.
2) They remove the stealth aspect of the xenomorphs
3) They defeat the point of a queen facehugger
4) Their metamorphosis into different creatures is a stretch, even for the Alien saga. Nothing can voluntarily take that many forms, let alone possess the genetic code to do so. A drone being able to turn into a warrior is feasible. A warrior transforming into a creature which can then turn into 3+ forms is just ridiculous.
5) If a Praetorian has faster reflexes than a normal xenomorph, then it is certainly not feasible. The queen is heavily armored, and her speed is compromised. From what I have read, this is not true of the Praetorian.
6) From what I have read, a Praetorian is supposed to be a very big xenomorph. Hasn't anyone ever heard of a lifespan before?

The Preatorian is the so called "gaurdian" of the Queen. Taking on the form of a 8-10 ft. tall "mini" Queen, the Preatorian is a fierce creature. With many other advantages, it has disadvanteges as well.
Advanteges:
Morphing into the next Queen when the current one is destroyed/dies.
Morphing into the Carrier, introduced to carry around Facehuggers to numerous areas without harming them.
Morphing into the Ravager. Which I find to be a savage excuse for the Newborn. Just with better thoughts and a better way to kill along with a better as hell design.
Stronger than the normal Xenomorph as well as a harder outter dome and exo-skeleton.
Faster reflexes and thinks smart.

i haven't played the avp games sirously (can't spell ) when i first rented exstintion all i did was make aliens and send then to attack stuff whats a preatorian thats really i think the only one i don't know
