a lot of you seem to think this film is really bad, you gotta remember it was rushed. Fox wanted it out as soon as possible and really didnt seem to cater for any of the hardcore fans out there. i bet anderson is crying acid blood now after the fans are slating the poor sod. maybe i'm wrong, maybe it was his fault, though all in all i didnt think the movie was that bad, if they would have slowed the pace down a bit it might have been ok - a few more battles and chuck in the extra two preds from the book and we would have been saved this average attempt to please us.

Man, I hope this film would make a director cut or even a remake at the future - and make it as R Rate....as what the fans want....!

well i thought it was very good but not great. It was as almost as good as i thought it was going to be but there were alot of problems which most people have mentioned like it needs more gore., larger amounts of aliens and predators, more battle scenes and the movie needs to be longer.

bootydaddy - there is gonna be a directors cut of the film , if you've read the book the directors cut is going to have an alternate opening set in 1904 and will also feature three deleted scenes.

i'm dead serious my friend. they wanted avp to get big box office bucks so they lowered the film certificate to pull in more viewers. trust me, this pissed me right off. you cant have a decent alien or predator film thats not rated r. if the second film actaully gets produced i hope the sort this out. i know you're all with me when i say i want more blood, more preds and more aliens!!

hey dude, just relaying the information i read on the net, was an interview with paul anderson. dont blame me guys. you know these days most horror - sci fi films are aimed at younger audiences, they want screaming girls and teenage guys roaming in droves to go and see the films, to be honest i can see the difference, avp was far too comic book and was nowhere near dark enough. it made more at the box office than any of the previous alien - pred films apparently.

I think Ridely Scott should have done AVP, the guys got so much talent more so than paul like, but you have to admit the only good think about AVP was the look of the creatures!

Paul Anderson would have been hated on no matter what he did. Making the movie was going to be difficult no matter what.

I reckon had he had reduced the lighting in the passage ways and tunnels much more he would have nailed it brilliantly, the surroundings should have been more, MUCH MORE darker e.g. the tail going through the predator, the whole scenery should have been dead dark, not knowing what was to come, catch us by surprise.

Had we ( the audience) had not had seen the tail from behind that would have been something.

agreed - it needed to be more confined to build up the tension, paul anderson has had bad press from day one since he started this project, he didnt do too bad of a job but you know that ridley, hell jim cameron could have produced a masterfull piece for us.

I have to agree with Daveberg about how happy we all would've been had the movie followed the book. However, I must protest the statement about anderscum making a better movie that was butchered by fox. Although fox did destroy what could have been a good movie by making it pg-13 and way to short....weasel did a fair amount of destruction himself. For starters, he originally claimed that he had waited ten years to see an alien and pred in the same movie. However, after the release, he "claimed" to have only meant AVP to re-energize the seperate alien and predator franchises. we all know that in pred 3 the pred would destroy all humans until that vvery last one who manages to triumph. In ALien 5, the aliens would get cheated once again of their rightful dominance of the universe. However, with AVP...we get the chance to see an alien and a pred fight to the death. we never know what can happen in that type of battle, or who will win. The movie itself needed more preds and way more aliens, even to be just cannon fodder. Less emphasis should ahve been put on character development, they all died to quickly. Worst of all....the tag line lied to us...whoever wins we lose....WE DIDN'T LOSE, LEX SURVIVED. We definitely need to see a sequel in order to regain the legions of lost fans over this debacle. AVPII needs to put purly a war between aliens and preds, no more humans. Use indiginous life forms for the aliens to breed and slaughter. Finally, if there has to be a human, make it lex and have her play a similar role as Machiko Noguchi in the books.
