Books and comics ?

I just got the aliens book one TPB comic and thought it was great I relized that there is a next one in the series. But then I found there are books and comics witch are the same but diffrent. Are they alternate stories or just the same thing ?

I think that too, the movies and comic stories put togehter, like Concrete Jungle. It was kinda Predator: Concrete Jungle and predator2 together (im talking about the game anf Predator2 together) but it was made before P:CJ was made so i dunno
