Alien Vs Predator 2 Help?

Returning to AVP2 I found that the sierra has closed down the master server (sucks). I have installed the game on my computer with the AvP2SMSInstall_v1.2.2 by lithtech and I keep getting the same error "C:\Program Files (86)\Fox\Aliens vs. Predator 2\AVP2Serv.exe" I have tired extracting the files to my desktop and moving them into the AVP2 folder in my C: and then updating from the folder, I still can't get online. When I click on Multiplayer the game searches for a newer version and then comes back with a failed version error. I’m guessing that I’m getting this error because I still don’t have the correct version and now that the servers are down there no way of getting it? Is anyone else having the same problem or does anyone know how to fix this?

I’m Running Windows Vista 64 bit Ultimate, AMD Athlon 64 FX-62 Dual Core Procsessor 2.81 GHz and the Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX Graphics card.
